Abstract:

Views of Virginia City, Nevada, including general and street views, and individual buildings such as churches, mine buildings, the court house, schools, etc. Also depicted are Silver City, Gold Hill and the Comstock Lode region, Nevada, and Lindon Towers, the residence of James Flood. Views of the Nevada Bank in San Francisco, Calif., and other banking-related views are also included. In addition, the collection contains photos of documents (checks signed by MacKay, etc.), political cartoons and caricatures (regarding Mackay, James Flood, William S. O'Brien, and others), and press clippings about MacKay's mortuary and tomb in Greenwood cemetery, Brooklyn.
